Dye Resistant Glaze

  • For cross dye effects please consult Lurex® Technical Department.
  • The support threads used in Glaze yarns on this page are designed to dye with the fibre specified.

Demand for dye resistant metallised yarns has increased significantly following an extensive development project by Lurex®. It is not possible to produce one dye resistant metallised yarn suitable for all dyeing process due to PH values and dyeing temperature affecting coatings differently. The Lurex® range is thus classified into different Glaze qualities taking into account the dyestuffs used. A technical manual "DYEING WITH GLAZE" which should be adhered to is available upon request. The fibre preceding the word Glaze signifies the fibre dye to which the Lurex® film is resistant.
